Our Sweet Story
Chaniotakis Beekeeping is a small family beekeeping business, located in Crete.
Our story starts back in 1982 when a young mathematician (Manolis) bought his first hive with a friend as a new hobby, “a moment is enough”. He made the next big step and bought ten more hives by the end of the year. The next year more than double and each year after it I added more hives. The hobby had become obsessive!
Since then the bees have grown to hundreds hives in numerous apiaries across Crete, producing many different types of monofloral honeys. Today, we supply with our quality bee products not only the Greek market, but also the European by exporting.
Nowadays the legacy continues as the next generation, Yianni & Elena continue the excellence in honey production by implementing fresh ideas. Yanni graduated as agronomist and focused on beekeeping science. Elena studied environmental law and marketing. They are focused on sustainable ways of production and packaging.
